IAPL PUBLICATIONS - submission information

In conjunction with the TEXTURES: Philosophy/ Literature/ Culture Series (edited by Hugh J. Silverman), we are pleased to invite conference participants to submit final versions of their papers for possible inclusion in a volume resulting from IAPL conferences. Conference participants are asked to submit a copy of the paper they are offering for publication at the time of conference registration.

The IAPL reserves the right of first selection on all papers presented at its annual conferences. Since the number of papers that can be included is limited, the choice of papers will be based on quality and on relevance to the thematic integrity of the volume.

To be considered for the volume resulting from the most recent IAPL conference , participants should submit a printed copy along with a disk copy of their essay at the Registration Desk no later than the fourth day of the conference.

Final corrected versions of their essay must be sent to the volume editor no later than September 1st.

GENERAL SUBMISSION DETAILS

Submissions should include two (2) hard copies of your essay as well as a disk copy in a PC Word [".doc"] format [save in ".rtf" if in doubt]..  Final corrected versions must be received no later than September 1st (in the year of the conference).

Complete papers should be submitted on paper and on disk or CD in six separate electronic files (please send according to the Filename format below).

Replace "yourname" with your last name:

    1. the essay [yourname essay.doc]
    2. endnotes [yourname notes.doc]   IMPORTANT: Endnotes will be collected together at the end of the volume. Therefore, it is crucial that you include a separate file for all of your endnotes. The first time a reference is cited, it should be given complete detail including page number(s), with a "henceforth cited as X" [where X is the abbreviation for your reference as it will be listed in your "abbreviations" file]. After the first citation, subsequent references should be included in the main body of the text in parentheses with the abbreviation for the reference (italics), followed by the page number(s). Do not use repeating endnotes in your endnote file for the same text.
    3. a list of abbreviations of references cited more than once in endnotes [yourname abbrev.doc]. Include the abbreviation on the left column followed by the full bibliographical reference in the right column.
    4. abstract of paper [yourname abstract.doc]
    5. bibliography of works related to theme of volume [yourname biblio.doc]
    6. contributor’s biographical note [yourname bio.doc]

The volume editor will make all efforts to inform those who have submitted papers no later than December 1st as to whether their papers have been accepted for publication or not.
