Brio Pizza: Inside The Light (off the Headrow) – 2 minutes from Town Hall. Pizzas and pasta from £5-8. (Open on Sunday from 12.30).

MaPotter’s Chargrill: Inside The Light (off the Headrow) – two minutes from Town Hall. Vegetarian, Salads, sandwiches and baguettes, burgers, pasta, £3-7. Also serves breakfast. Evening menu average: £6-£9. (Open on Sunday).

Qube (Bar Café). Situated on Millenium Square, 3 minutes from the Town Hall. Baguettes, jacket potatoes, panini, burgers. Average: £3-5.

Fuji Hiro (Japanese).

On Wade Lane, close to the Merrion Centre. Average main dish: £5-7.

Nash’s Tudor Fish and Chip Restaurant (Yorkshire).

17 Merrion Street, close to the Merrion Centre. Average main dish: £4-8. (0113 2457 194). Closed on Sunday.

Sahara Café (North African).

23 East Gate. Follow The Headrow down the hill in the direction of the Bus Station and the West Yorkshire Play House. Average Main dish: £4.50-8. Open Sundays.

Fairuz (Lebanese).

Situated near the corner of Lady Lane and Templar Lane. Follow Merrion Street into Templar Street, then turn right into Templar Lane. Average main dish: £4.50-7.50. (0113 243 4923). Open Sundays.

Lucky Dragon (Cantonese).

Brio (Italian).

40 Great George Street, behind the Town Hall. Average main dish: £7-13. (0113 246 5225) Closed on Sunday.

On the Headrow, close to the Town Hall. Salads, Pasta, Main courses. Also serves hot sandwiches and small snacks throughout the day. Average main dish: £8-14. Does not take reservations.
